SAEBRS Information

Maricopa Unified School District is committed to having every student graduate prepared to create, innovate, lead, and succeed. This includes supporting every student’s academic growth as well as their social, emotional and behavioral growth. Students can be successful if they can regulate their emotions, develop positive relationships and make responsible decisions. As part of this process, K-12 teachers will complete a screener based on their observations of the students in the fall. Additionally, all students in
2nd-12th grade will be completing a screener. The screener is called the SAEBRS or Social, Academic, Emotional, Behaviors Risk Screener.

The screener will ask students a total of 19 questions.

This data will be gathered and school leadership and teacher teams will review the data to develop instructional next steps to support all students. If further actions are deemed necessary, we will promptly reach out to the parents to initiate a collaborative partnership in developing a plan tailored to address your child's specific needs.
